Of course, a person can live without food. But not for long.

Like any other living being, a person must replenish the energy expended in the process of life. To do this, we have to eat - eat food, completed in varying degrees of fats, proteins and carbohydrates. At the same time, we love that this food be tasty, that is, not only meet our requirements for taste, but also exceed them. Often we do not have sufficient skills to prepare it in this way. Or we do not want to spend time preparing it. Or both together. It is to meet such needs that all kinds of catering establishments have appeared that provide us with food, meeting one or several requirements at once: tasty, fast and without spending your own time on cooking. As a rule, cafes and restaurants try to provide a cozy atmosphere for visitors and quality service.

Increasing sales without investment!

"1000 Ideas" - 1000 ways to stand out from the competition and make any business unique. Professional kit for developing business ideas. trending product 2019.

And yet, despite these amenities, sometimes there may be a desire (and sometimes a need) to eat deliciously not in a restaurant, but at home. A romantic dinner in a pleasant seclusion, a meeting with friends, just the desire to spend the evening in a cozy armchair with a delicious dinner - all this can make us refuse restaurant service. Some establishments offer a home delivery service - and in this case, this is the way out. Some, but not all. To date, no more than 10% of establishments are ready to deliver food on their own. The reason for this is that the creation of a delivery service is not only additional financial costs, but also the need for its proper organization. This is where a profitable business opportunity arises.

The organization of a food delivery service is a relatively new business niche for Russia. So far, there are practically no active and successful players here: in response to a corresponding request, search engines in an average million-plus city will offer no more than 3-4 options, two of which will be players of the federal level. It is difficult to say exactly what this state of affairs is connected with. We can only state certain difficulties that arise when organizing such a business. But what is a business without difficulties?

First of all, it is necessary to think over the actual organizational scheme of delivery: what kind of transport and in what quantity is needed, how to manage logistics. The most important thing here is the moment of compliance with the declared delivery time. It should also be determined with particular care - if you declare too short a time, there is a risk of not being in time, which will cause negativity on the part of the client; if you declare too much to be safe, no one will respond to advertising. It is necessary to take into account not only the time of the courier on the road from the place of deployment to the restaurant, and from there to the client, but also (possibly) the time of preparation of the ordered dish. For an average regional center, a delivery time of 1.5 hours would be appropriate. Ideally, the courier, having arrived for the order, should receive it already without waiting - here it is necessary to ensure the competent work of the dispatcher, who, having received the application from the client, immediately broadcasts it to the institution where the dish will be prepared.

When organizing logistics, specialized software can provide significant assistance - a CRM system that ensures the work of an operator and a courier in a single space. A big advantage in this case will be its integration with a geographic information system to build the most efficient courier route. Today, a similar system is offered by one of the market participants - a franchisor, who several years ago organized a food delivery business from restaurants. Of course, acquiring a franchise is a good way to get an almost ready-made business and minimize the risks associated with introducing a new service to the market. However, for various reasons, not every entrepreneur makes a decision in her favor. An alternative is to use CRM systems that already exist in the public domain, and for those who have programming knowledge, create their own software.

The choice of transport for couriers is determined by the conditions of a particular city of deployment. In Krasnodar, for example, food delivery on scooters is quite successful. Despite the fact that this is one of the least expensive modes of transport - only public transport is cheaper - it is hardly suitable for a city with a harsher climate. In this case, the purchase of small cars is required - new or used, depending on the planned investment in the project. As for the public transport mentioned above, it may also be relevant in some cases. In Moscow, for example, at rush hour with a small order, it is much faster to get on the subway; Of course, there are some reservations - the order should not be too voluminous, the route should not be too complicated and long.

At the time of the start of the project, two simultaneously working couriers will be quite enough - this will allow serving up to 5 customers per hour. Over time, the number of couriers will increase, and the cost of their maintenance will be covered by an increasing customer base. You will also need a small office equipped with a minimum set of office equipment, as well as smartphones or tablets for couriers with an installed CRM system. So the initial cost is:

Ready-made ideas for your business

Development and promotion of an Internet site - at least 150-200 thousand rubles, if transferred to a contract; if knowledge and skills allow, you can develop it yourself, but you still have to spend at least 50-70 thousand on advertising;

CRM system - on average from 40,000 rubles per workplace of the "boxed" version, but there are cloud services that allow completely free use of versions with limited functionality for small companies; if you need a full version, then its rent will cost from 1000 to 10000 rubles, depending on the functionality and the number of connected users;

Transport for couriers - from 30,000 rubles for a new scooter with a guarantee or two times cheaper for a used one; a new small car-foreign car will cost ten times more - 300,000 rubles, and a used domestic one in good condition - 80-100 thousand, so the choice will be determined by the size of the entrepreneur's budget;

Computer and mobile equipment - up to 50,000 rubles;

Ready-made ideas for your business

Working capital for several months - to pay salaries to couriers, pay for a rented office, advertising, etc.

As a result, in the most budgetary version, we get the amount of starting capital of 300-350 thousand rubles. However, it will take a lot of patience, effort and, most importantly, luck to achieve impressive results with such investments. The optimal amount of starting capital can be considered the amount of 600-800 thousand rubles.

However, it is worth starting the creation of such a business not with the gross purchase of transport and equipment, but with agreements with local catering establishments. Before making a final decision on investing free capital in a project, you need to get the consent of cafes and restaurants to work with your delivery service. As practice shows, there are two main options for cooperation: in the first, the minimum order amount is not limited, the customer pays a fixed cost of delivery; in the second, delivery is free for the customer, the minimum order amount is limited, and the delivery person gets a percentage of the invoice amount paid by the restaurant. The first option is more applicable to the fast food format, the second - to cafes and restaurants with a wide range of dishes. The opportunity to pay interest on the order appears at the institution by attracting additional customers from the delivery service, as well as due to the fact that the amount of the check does not include the cost of renting and maintaining the hall and the wages of waiters; according to various estimates, the delivery person can receive 20-25% of the order amount. Pricing for a client can also be different - the cost of a dish at home can be equal to its cost in an institution, and various discounts or markups can be provided - it all depends on a competent marketing rationale for the pricing policy.

Only after obtaining agreement in principle (in the ideal case, signing an agreement) from 10-15 establishments - there is simply no point in working with a smaller number - you can start buying equipment and organizing an office. To promote the project, you can use such channels as the Internet, including your own website, advertising in elevators, flyers in cafes and restaurants. You can position your business in different ways. There are examples when the delivery service only delivers pizza, or only sushi and rolls. However, such specialization, on the one hand, facilitating logistics and relationships with suppliers, can significantly reduce the client base - a Russian person loves a wide range.

The work schedule for such a business is only suitable for shifts - but round-the-clock or limited in time, it will allow you to determine the marketing research of the region or directly practical experience. The salary of couriers can be either fixed or with a variable part, depending on the number of deliveries made. Based on 5 deliveries per hour by two couriers with a 12-hour working day, we get 60 served customers per shift. With a minimum fixed delivery cost of, say, 200 rubles, this will amount to 12,000 rubles per shift. In the case of delivery of a set menu from a restaurant - a modest dinner for two now costs no less than two thousand - the delivery person will already receive 400-500 rubles for one order; thus, the maximum daily revenue can reach more than 20 thousand rubles. With a shift schedule without days off, the monthly revenue will be from 360,000 rubles. The 12-hour schedule assumes the presence of two shifts - two couriers and one dispatcher at the first stage of the project development. Another piece-work courier can be connected during peak hours or at the most demanded time - Friday and Saturday evenings.

Ready-made ideas for your business

The salary of a courier should be at least 20-22 thousand rubles per month, depending on the labor market of the region, or 100-120 thousand rubles per month gross for the enterprise. Two dispatchers - another 40-50 thousand rubles a month in total. Office rent will cost 10-15 thousand, CRM rent - an average of 5,000 rubles; communication costs are the same. Fuel and lubricants for cars and their maintenance - 50,000 rubles (scooters, respectively, are cheaper). Total monthly expenses - 225,000 rubles. Gross profit in this case will be at least 135,000 rubles. A very good indicator for a small business. The main factors in achieving the success of the project are the competent promotion of the service in order to ensure the planned number of orders and compliance with the deadlines for their implementation. With the growth of the business, the client base, the number of couriers and partner restaurants will increase, and, consequently, the profit of the enterprise.

Until the planned sales figures are reached, an additional volume of orders can be attracted by the delivery of other goods. In particular, the Russian franchisor in the field of food delivery also offers services for the purchase of order and delivery of any goods - from diapers to auto parts; it can also be just the transportation of some thing from one place to another. However, here you should already resort to reservations, otherwise you will soon have to accept orders for moving with the transportation of pianos and other interesting things. The most popular and easy to transport are flowers, auto parts, food and medicine.

In the era of rapid development of information technologies, a mobile offer can become an indispensable tool for communication with the client, with the help of which the client can place an order and track its status. The development of such an application will cost at least 80,000 rubles, and its promotion - at least 50,000.

As we said above, about 10% of all catering establishments have their own delivery service. It is still necessary to build partnerships with them - often they focus on advertising their own brand, aimed at visitors to the establishment, and delivery goes by the wayside. Thus, a certain target group is cut off - people who want to get a dish from a given restaurant, but who are not able to come there. In this case, the partnership will consist in placing the restaurant menu on the website and in the mobile application of the delivery person, delivery will be made by the restaurant itself, and the delivery person will receive a small percentage for the advertising opportunities provided.

Starting small and having worked out the scheme of work in one city, after a while you can organize branches in other cities of the country. The next step may be the creation of a franchise and its sale, or the creation of a federal delivery network. As always in business, development opportunities are limited only by your desire.

Drone food delivery is a business that promises to appear in a few years. About what attempts have already been made to launch it, about the ever-changing legal framework, as well as about the current situation...

business magazine IQR got readers another interesting story from the first person about creating his own business from scratch. Our heroine is engaged in the delivery of ready-made food to events and offices. This business case is noteworthy for two reasons: the starting capital is $150, the heroine's starting knowledge in the field of cooking is zero.

How and why I decided to start my own banquet food delivery business

Rice with vegetables

I am Vika, I am 28 years old, I live in Kursk. In 2011, I was forced to take up an activity that I had a very vague idea about before - this is the organization of the delivery of banquet dishes.

The reason for the need to cook food to order was my pregnancy, and I didn’t really want to remain without my own income. Due to its “interesting” position, it was not possible to work outside the home, and the “culinary masterpieces production workshop” was safely located in a rented apartment of 30 square meters in which I lived at that time, with a tiny kitchen and two-burner gas stove with oven.

Food delivery organization, business plan on the knee

Of course, initially I was not particularly enthusiastic about this idea, as I was sure that the service would not be in great demand, given the huge number of all kinds of cafes and restaurants - from the most expensive to the budget ones. It should be noted that in Kursk there were already several organizations providing ready-made food delivery services, in our area it was called "Kitchen or a restaurant at home." But still I decided to try, because the losses are minimal.

Considering that by the age of 23 I didn’t even know how to fry an egg, the process of preparing dishes to order was the most difficult for me.

So I brought in my friend Olga, who worked as a cook in one of the local eateries. Olya had to cook and at the same time introduce me to the secrets of the culinary arts, I, in turn, did the “rough” work in the kitchen and generated ideas for organizing delivery, compiled a menu, placed ads in the newspaper My Advertisement and on Avito in service section. It was planned to buy products and disposable containers in the nearest supermarket and wholesale base.

Calculation of income and expenses, first profit

The first order was received in March 2011, they asked for a "funeral" set of dishes, which cost 180 rubles per person, the number of people was 20, respectively, our first sale was in the amount of 3600 rubles. We spent a total of 4,350 rubles (food - 1,900 rubles, disposable containers - 300 rubles, advertising in a newspaper - 2,000 rubles / month, taxi services), as a result, from the first order we lost 750 rubles.

We received income from the next order, since we no longer spent money on advertising. For the first month of work, we had 7 orders for a total amount of approximately 22,000 rubles, the total income was approximately 10,000 rubles. Mostly they ordered home or to the country (taking into account the spring-summer period), once they ordered to the recreation center, which provides an area for a banquet.

Entry of the enterprise to a stable profit

Within the first three months, our "enterprise" got its own pizzacon website, where the client could get acquainted with the menu and delivery conditions. We also acquired glassware for decorating dishes, edited the menu, which still works today. The number of orders increased to 7-8 per week. People order ready meals for anniversaries, funerals, birthdays, weddings. All this increased our income to 40,000 rubles a month for two.

New Year's Eve corporate parties and New Year's Eve gave us two months of revenue, although we ourselves were destined to forget about the holidays completely - such is the work.

Is it possible to manage such a business alone?

After about a year of working together, Olga and I stopped cooperating, I began to work alone, the duties of a dispatcher, courier, cook fell on my shoulders, fortunately, I learned to cook by that time not badly. I rented a separate one-room apartment for work, since it was, to put it mildly, not very comfortable to cook and store all the attributes of my business in the cramped apartment where I lived with the baby.

I bought a car, and now I independently delivered finished products to the client. Over the next two years, the work was stable, there was no shortage of orders, but there wasn’t much progress either, I “put together” a client base and didn’t really promote my service, until at some point the number of sales dropped significantly.

It even happened that in a month there were 4-5 small orders, this is very little. Most likely, this was due to the fact that such activities have become quite popular among mothers like me who are on maternity leave, since superpowers and large start-up capital are not required.

I specifically panicked as this job was my only source of income. There were debts, and something had to be done urgently.

Business development - food delivery to the office

This is what the menu looks like

Service promotion. It's all about the price!

In 2014, I launched a new service - the delivery of complex meals to enterprises and offices, which provided me with a daily stable income. I had to drive around construction sites, markets, branches of various banks in Kursk in search of those who wanted to eat "hot dinners at home." The cost of one complex lunch was only 80 rubles, so, of course, there were plenty of people who wanted it - 12 people at the bank branch and 25 at the construction site. I bought a large thermal bag and have successfully "fed" 37 people from Monday to Friday weekly.

Plus, my orders for banquets have not gone anywhere, even if there were not as many of them as I would like, but I had enough, in total, my weekly income, minus the cost of food, was about 15,000 rubles.

Transition from home cooking to professional equipment

In the same year, I rented a room in a shopping center. In the Evrasik family cafe, the kitchen was not fully used, so I was allowed to work in an empty part for a small rent - 10,000 rubles plus 5,000 (electricity payments) monthly, providing me not only with an area, but also with some pieces of kitchen furniture (tables , sink, racks for dishes) and some dishes.

I bought a professional stove with an oven from my own landlords, so my production could be called full-fledged and complete. I didn’t have to formalize my activities, because now I began to work closely with the owners of the very cafe where my workplace was located. On the website of my services, I posted certain items from the Evrasika menu that I didn’t have - pastries, desserts, services of visiting chefs Catering, which strengthened our partnerships and allowed me to act on behalf of landlords.

How much does a successful food delivery business bring

How to organize a business

When the number of orders for set meals approached fifty a day, I hired a professional chef with a salary of 10% of the total turnover - this is about 17-20 thousand rubles a month - a normal salary for our city. And now my duties include only taking orders, delivering raw materials to the enterprise and finished products to the client.

On holidays, when there are a lot of orders and my employee can’t cope alone, another person comes out to help with the purpose of working part-time - this is a young student guy who, despite his very young age, loves his job very much and treats the cooking process with trepidation and zeal. Of course, I like it, because, although I learned how to cook, I never got to love this process. Therefore, I will gladly accept this guy in my team on a permanent basis immediately after his training. In the near future, I have - to acquire a courier, and devote myself to a deeper promotion of my services, as I see great prospects for this business, and finally formalize my activities in the form of an independent small business entity.

What are the prospects for this business, is it worth starting from scratch?

My own sister, who lives in a village 25 km from Kursk, has also begun to engage in this activity, and in that area her services are even more popular than mine in Kursk. She cooks at home, takes orders on my website, she has a three-room apartment and a huge kitchen of 22 square meters, so her activities do not particularly hamper the household. So my company has a kind of branch.

Summing up, I can say with confidence that it was not in vain that I once decided to organize the delivery of banquet dishes and set meals. My initial capital was only about 4,000 rubles, after 4 years my monthly net income is 60-70 thousand rubles - this is not much, I know that you can earn much more, and I am ready to work on this project to squeeze the maximum.

Today it is not at all necessary to go shopping, because everything you need can be ordered via the Internet. Moreover, there is no need to even waste time on cooking - it is much better to order food with home delivery.

A business created in this service sector can become very profitable, and besides, it has many prospects. Undoubtedly, there is even more competition for him, but with the desire and hard work, you will find your niche that will make you successful.

Food delivery: business features and nuances

Food belongs to this kind of goods that under no circumstances leave the market, because “you always want to eat”, everyone and constantly, despite the crisis or other troubles. Food delivery services, although they appeared relatively recently, are quickly gaining popularity for many reasons:

  • busy people in big cities do not have time to buy groceries in the store or do not find time to cook;
  • some firms provide their employees with the delivery of ready-made meals, the so-called business lunches (or the employees of offices and corporations themselves order such services);
  • many establishments (pizzerias, sushi bars or restaurants, etc.) immediately have their own production and delivery (you can eat with them or arrange courier services);
  • on a large scale, this business is already called catering and assumes that you can cater for large events (banquets, various holidays, meetings or special occasions).

Of course, you can and should start small, because not everyone will be able to immediately conquer the market. Before you open the delivery of food at home, you need to carefully prepare. It is best to create a business plan, because this way you can gradually distribute all the points and not miss anything.

  1. To make your business profitable and successful, analyze this market segment by collecting all the relevant information for your city.
  2. Decide on the shape of your business. There are several options:
    • use ready-made food from a restaurant (cafe), but sell it with a certain markup due to the delivery service;
    • cook yourself (this can be an absolutely family, home business, when you do everything at home, or in a specialized kitchen). In this case, you can also sell your services in different ways, that is, either involve other relatives in the business, or hire a courier with a car;
    • sell not only ready-made food, but also semi-finished products (you need to be able to prepare them), as well as independent products, doing business through online orders and delivery.
  3. Each of these options has its own advantages and disadvantages. To choose where to start, evaluate your financial capabilities and try to analyze all possible risks. After that, go to prepare the material and legal base. Serious work awaits you.
  4. Already during the organizational process, you will have to look for a place suitable for cooking and storing food, suppliers of goods, decide on transport and other working moments.
  5. Next, you need to do advertising and search for customers. This is a very important point, because it will be possible to talk about the payback or profit of a business only on the condition of an established client base and constant development.

As you can see, to realize this idea, it will take a lot of effort, time and money. But, having a clear plan of action, you can begin to translate your ideas into reality.

Where to begin?

Before starting a food delivery business, you need to figure out how you can stand out from your competitors. To succeed, you need to constantly be on top, pleasantly surprise your customers and make them contact you again and again. It’s good if you manage to organize a full cycle of services, that is, from cooking to food delivery.

If you already have your own restaurant or other establishment (cafeteria, canteen, pizzeria), then you can simply add a new service - food delivery by courier. Then you do not have to search for premises, suppliers and staff. The issue of issuing permits and other documentation will also be removed, and the business concept will be clear.

However, owning a restaurant is not acceptable for everyone. Perhaps at the initial stage you do not have the necessary amount or experience to start such a business. Whereas opening a food delivery service as a small firm or family business is quite realistic. That is, you can start from the other side, and having unwinded and gained a foothold in the market, you can already invest in the institution of your dreams.

We create our own website

You can order the development of a site from scratch or buy a ready-made project. The second option will cost you less, besides, you can immediately start working with it.

The best option for money and speed of creation is to use the services of freelancers. Also, feel free to entrust them with any tasks that you have as you create and grow your business - writing articles, creating a logo, finding clients, etc. It is best to use a specialized platform, for example, Perform.ru, where the process of interaction with performers will be simple and safe.

Try to come up with an interesting design for the site and work out various marketing strategies so that it doesn’t just “hang” on the Internet like a dead weight, but really works and attracts customers. By the fact of attendance and interest, it will be possible to judge in what other directions you need to move.

Everything according to the law: the main points of legal training

The contents of the package of required documents will depend on whether you already own a catering business. Some entrepreneurs do not want to initially start fussing with legal registration and begin to do this only after some time has passed or in case of unexpected troubles. But you need to understand that you can’t just cook at home in the kitchen and sell food to people: you can get in serious trouble with the law.

Business must be set up correctly:

  • register with the tax office, choose the form of taxation and prepare a package of documents for registration;
  • pay the required state fees and submit an application for entry into the EGRIP;
  • if you plan to make a cashless payment, you need to open a bank account;
  • obtain appropriate permits from the sanitary and epidemiological service for the premises you have chosen and the implementation of all planned services (cooking, food storage, transportation, etc.). SES checks both working conditions and food preparation conditions. Your employees must have valid medical books, where they will enter the data of medical examinations and confirmation of the hygienic training / certification passed;
  • obtain permission from the fire department, whose employees will also check the premises and document that it meets the necessary standards and requirements, and your employees have passed the necessary certification and can work with food;
  • papers authorizing your activities must be signed by both the consumer market committee and Rospotrebnadzor;
  • register a cash register and purchase a seal.

Remember that your business activity should be related to delivery services (you also need permission!), because you will have to conclude supply contracts, sign bills of lading and waybills for drivers.

Here's what it takes to start food delivery from scratch. However, you will only need a full package of documents if you buy and equip your own premises.

Important organizational issues

You need to decide how you will start working: will you be able to manage at first on your own or will you hire a staff? It is also worth considering the order of work, that is, how and where you will purchase, store and prepare food. There are several options.

  1. Products are pre-purchased and stored in cold stores and other related equipment. Of course, this means that the money has already been invested. However, there is a plus: you can post information on the site about the availability of a particular product, and the buyer will immediately become interested. A preliminary menu is also made for clients, based on their requests.
  2. The second option involves the purchase of products and cooking with subsequent delivery only after the accepted order. On the one hand, you are less likely to be at a loss, but on the other hand, you will not be able to promptly accept and fulfill customer orders, which will lead to their leaving in search of someone quicker.

Equipment and raw materials

If you yourself equip your premises for a full production cycle, then you will need to spend a lot of money to purchase at least the most necessary things. The names and amount of the investment will depend on the specifics of your food, how you will cook it, what figure you are counting on, etc. Initially, you can not take imported and expensive equipment, because at a much reasonable price you can buy it second-hand y.

However, you will definitely need:

  • all kinds of kitchen utensils (pans, pots, graters, knives, forks, spoons, cutting boards, etc.);
  • get at least one good multifunctional combine that will replace your meat grinder, blender, mixer and other necessary appliances;
  • gas or electric stove;
  • microwave or pressure cooker (ideally both);
  • special refrigerators and freezers for food storage.

In addition, be sure to take care of equipping the food delivery (transportation) itself: purchase special containers, thermal bags, etc. You can order napkins or plastic utensils with your company logo (brand) on them. This should be done before opening food delivery.

What's on the menu?

The assortment depends on the specifics of your business: do you prepare a varied menu for every taste or only dishes of a certain cuisine? Here we can advise you not to go in cycles in one pizza or sushi, since the competition with permanent establishments of this kind is very strong. It is better to focus on the variety of choice. This will help you attract more customers.

You can buy products on your own (at wholesale bases and markets) or negotiate with suppliers. Remember that all products must be fresh and of high quality, be sure to check the documents.

Assemble a decent team

For the success of your enterprise, you will also need to find good employees. Give preference to people who have work experience and relevant references, as you cannot risk your reputation.

With a full production cycle (from order acceptance to its preparation and delivery), you will need to take on staff:

  • operator (dispatcher) who will receive calls and place orders;
  • cooks (one or more - according to the situation);
  • couriers (usually hire employees with their own car);
  • others can be hired as needed as your business grows and expands (security guards, warehouse workers, cleaning lady, in-house accountant, etc.).

Your employees must be honest, efficient and responsible.

In the future, it will be possible to purchase special vehicles that will be equipped with a thermal body. Transport costs will need to be included in the cost of meals, while you should calculate the actual costs of car depreciation and fuel.

tell us about yourself

A competent pricing policy with various loyalty programs (discounts, bonuses and promotions) and a well-thought-out advertising concept will be able to attract people's attention and bring you the first stable earnings.

Do not forget to talk about yourself on the Internet. It’s good if your site has positive feedback from your customers, because word of mouth is the best advertising campaign.

Estimated costs

The profitability of the business is quite high (up to 60%), and it can pay off even in six months (maximum in a year and a half).

Figures are presented in rubles.

conclusions

Now you know how to open food delivery step by step. Despite the fact that at first you may even have to work on your own, performing all the functions and responsibilities, very soon your business will pay off and begin to generate a stable income, and over time you will be able to expand the business, gaining good momentum and replenishing your clientele. base of regular customers.

Supplying Russian citizens with ready-made meals is a fairly popular and profitable type of business in our country. Although there is a fair amount of competition, this does not prevent newcomers from finding their niche in this area. How to develop a business plan? Questions answered in the order in which they were received.

What types of home delivery business are there?

The business activity under consideration takes various forms:

  • . In this option, the entrepreneur acts as an intermediary delivering the restaurant product to the customer's home or office. Many restaurants do not want to lose customers, and at the same time, they consider it inappropriate to spend on organizing delivery. The benefit is mutual: the food manufacturer expands its customer base, the intermediary earns on the margin.
  • with delivery service to your home or office.
  • Cooking at home with the subsequent delivery of ready meals to customers . This is a variation of the family business, where all relatives are involved. In addition to ready-made food, you can specialize in the delivery of semi-finished products (dumplings, dumplings, and so on).

How to formalize a home delivery business?

The so-called legalization of business is mainly started after the promotion of the business, when there was a profit and the prospect of its growth. This is a risky path. Penalties have not yet been lifted.

It is better to immediately take care of the necessary package of documents:

  1. Register the status of an individual entrepreneur and obtain the relevant papers.
  2. Visit the tax office to select the form of taxation.
  3. Obtain permits from the SES and the fire department to ensure that the premises comply with all standards, taking into account the planned activities. Of course, this is not an easy question. Therefore, its decision is usually taken by specialists of law firms.
  4. Permits must be signed by Rospotrebnadzor.
  5. Non-cash payment for services requires a bank account.
  6. Each employee must issue a sanitary book.

In total, up to 3,000 rubles are spent on the documentary part. The duration of the procedure is a month or more.

What do you need to purchase to start a food delivery business?

Working with a full production cycle, i.e. cooking and delivering the finished product, involves a hefty cost.

The amount of expenses is directly dependent on some features of this business:

  • Food specifics . For example, only pies are baked or full three-course dinners are prepared. Other options are possible.
  • Cooking method.
  • Planned profit - sales volumes.

In any case, the entrepreneur should purchase:

  1. A variety of kitchen utensils, ranging from pans, pots, knives, forks, graters and ending with cutting boards.
  2. Combine with a lot of functions. This will immediately eliminate the need for other appliances - a meat grinder, blender, mixer and others.
  3. Stove (gas or electric).
  4. Microwave and steamer. This will greatly speed up the cooking process.
  5. Freezer and refrigerator - equipment that ensures the safety of products.
  6. High-quality delivery will not do without special containers, thermal bags and plastic utensils. By the way, they can be with the company logo.

Transportation is also on the list of necessary acquisitions. Delivery can be carried out by car, scooter, motorcycle and even by bicycle. By the way, a car is not always advisable in big cities - huge traffic jams make it difficult to deliver the order on time.

Note . By hiring a courier with personal transport, you can save on the purchase of a delivery vehicle.

Where and how can you organize production for food delivery to your home or office?

The organization of such a business requires a systematic study of all aspects of future activities.

The business owner will need to answer the following questions:

  • Where to cook? This question is related to the availability of the premises. Perhaps it already exists. Then there will be no costs for its purchase or rent.
  • With what to cook and where to store purchased products?
  • How to deliver? This is the transport solution.

1. Production room

Many start a business in the home kitchen, where most of the inventory is available. Otherwise, you need to find a room that is rented. The main condition is its compliance with the requirements of SES and firefighters.

2. Equipment

As noted above, the set of equipment depends entirely on the direction of activity. Semi-finished products, homemade food, cakes or pizza require different cooking specifics. This means that appropriate equipment is purchased.

3. Consumables

Not all products can be purchased for future use. Therefore, only those with a sufficiently long shelf life are initially purchased - vegetable oil, cereals, flour, spices, vegetables, meat (if stored frozen), and so on.

The rest is purchased as the customer base is formed. How it looks in practice. For example, a businessman negotiates with the management of an office for the delivery of lunches, agrees on an approximate menu for the week and the start date for deliveries. Then you can proceed to the main purchase of consumables.

Note . Funds for these costs must be available before work begins.

4. Food supply

Needless to say about the quality of the products used, confirmed by the relevant documentation. It does not matter here who is the food supplier - a grandmother in the market or a reputable company - the main thing is to use first-class goods. The reputation of the food delivery company depends on this. And one more nuance is the timeliness of delivery of initial products. This is agreed in advance - before the opening of the company.

5. Staff

Professional qualities are the only criterion in the selection of personnel. At the initial stage, two people are enough: one is engaged in cooking, the other - delivery. The main concern of a businessman is to promote the business. And as the scale of activity expands, increase the staff.
